Q: When is the office open?

A: The office is open as follows:

September – June: Monday – Friday: 8 am to 4 pm

July & August: Monday – Thursday: 8 am to 4 pm and Friday:  8 am to 12 noon

Q: Is the Cemetery open and how do I get to it?

A: The Cemetery is open Sundays 9 – 5, Mid-March through October. You can obtain a key for entry at other times from the temple office.

Q: How old should my child be to attend Religious and Hebrew School?

A: We offer Sunday morning Religious School classeds for 3-year olds through 7th grade, and Hebrew for 4 – 7 graders on Monday or Wednesday afternoon.

Q: When is Religious School and Hebrew School?

A: Religious School for Kindergarten through 7th grade is Sunday mornings September through May, from 9:30 am to 12 noon. Hebrew School, for grades 4 through 7, is for two hours on one mid-week day - either Monday or Wednesday from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.  We try to meet all families' preferences for Monday or Wednesday.  

Q: At what age would my son or daughter become Bar or Bat Mitzvah?

A: In our Congregation, boys and girls become Bar or Bat Mitzvah at age 13.

Q: Do I need an appointment to see the Rabbi?

A: You will need to make an appointment to see the Rabbi. Please call Michelle Warren at 374-8173 ext 111 or e-mail her at mwarren@cgoh.org

Q: If I am not a member, how do I make a donation in memory of, or in honor of, a loved one?

A: Thank you for considering a donation to us. You may mail a check to Congregation Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12309, or call us at (518)374-8173 to give us credit card information and authorization. Please be sure to specify your name and address, the name of the person in whose memory or honor you are making the donation, and the name of any specific fund you would like credited with your donation.  You may also contact our Executive Director, Susan Litynski at slitynski@cgoh.org
