Get ready for an extraordinary musical and cultural treat! The Singer Family Music Recital Fund in partnership with the Temple Community Service Corps (TCSC) will present the Wholesale Klezmer Band, a very talented group with a musical attitude. Delightful songs will please children in the audience and their parents.

The Band's repertoire includes music for dance, traditional Yiddish folk songs and vaudeville songs along with original compositions. The Wholesale Klezmer Band performs in Yiddish but makes it accessible to the English speaking world with translations, stories, explanations, and visuals. They write many of their own dance tunes that speak to contemporary concerns--repairing the world, Tikkun Olam, and living together in peace and justice.

Please join us for a fun celebration.  The Dinner will be a full course chicken dinner with salad, veggies, pasta, latkes, and dessert (following concert), followed by a 7:00 p.m. free concert by the Wholesale Klezmer Band. The concert if Free, however, donation to the temple community service corps are appreciated. You do not need to attend the dinner to go to the concert.  Please make dinner reservations by December 3rd.  Adults-$10, 6-11 years-$6, 5 years and under-$3.  Contact Kathy in the temple office at 374-8173 x100.

TCSC

Temple Community Service Corps is a major project of the Social Action Committee started in 1971. It raises funds to pay stipends for young people to do volunteer work in various community agencies such as nursing homes, camps, facilities for the disabled, and youth recreation programs. This local "Peace Corps" project has provided an exciting opportunity for young people to explore new areas of challenge, gain invaluable experience working in the community and receive personal well as finacial rewards.
