SISTERHOOD

The women's branch of the Congregational family is affiliated with the Women of Reform Judaism and lends its support to youth, education and service on a national as well as local level. Sisterhood meetings are held both in the day and evening to accommodate all schedules. Sisterhood has many fund-raising activities and has supported the Temple by purchasing office equipment, sponsoring the weekly Oneg Shabbat, giving partial camperships to Temple youth for attending Jewish summer camps. They support the Reyut (friendship) committee, an evening and morning study group, the Battered Women's Shelter and the Schenectady County Soup Kitchen.
