We have an active Social Action program.  We encourage you to volunteer at community agencies such as Pleasant Valley School, Schenectady Day Nursery, Hamilton Hill Arts Center, Regional Food Bank and Haven.

REGIONAL FOOD BANK:

Congregation Gates of Heaven congregants volunteer once a month, on a Sunday afternoon, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm to sort and pack food at the Regional Food Bank, (insert address).  This is a wonderful family mitzvah opportunity, appropriate for even young children with a parent.  It is not necessary to stay the entire three hours.  Religious School families can make a reservation through the office for a Pizza lunch (12:00 pm) at the synagogue before heading over to volunteer, or you can join the group at the Food Bank on the following dates: TBA FOR 2007-08 YEAR OR
