ENDOWMENT FUNDS
Our various named funds are referred to collectively as The Endowment. These funds were created by generous donors to be used for general and specific purposes. The Endowment is actively managed by Hugh Johnson Advisors and is overseen by our Endowment Committee which ensures that all disbursements from the funds are done in accordance with NYPMIFA and consistent with the Congregation's governing rules. In addition, The Endowment provides vital support for our annual budget.
If you are interested in donating to an existing fund or in creating a named fund, please contact Peter Kopcha, President, at kopcha@cgoh.org. There is a $10,000.00 opening minimum to create a named fund.
LEAVES AND PLAQUES
In addition to our Endowment Funds, there are many opportunities to celebrate a simcha, honor a loved one, or create a permanent memorial.
Our lobby is home to our beautiful Tree of Life, the leaves of which commemorate life cycle events, anniversaries, accomplishments, and other celebrations. To purchase a leaf on the Tree of Life for $250.00*, please contact Kevin at kevin@cgoh.org or 518-374-8173.
To create a permanent memorial for a loved one, ensuring their yahrzeit will be read annually, memorial plaques can be purchased for $600.00*. For more information, please contact Kevin at kevin@cgoh.org or 518-374-8173.
The Randall Adult Library has long been a place of reading, learning, and community. The shelves not only house a collection of Judaic books and Holocaust references and literature, they also hold dedication plaques honoring the memories of people for whom the library was a special place. A library shelf dedication plaque can be purchased for $1,800.00*. Please contact Peter Kopcha, President, at kopcha@cgoh.org.
If you have spent any time seated in our sanctuary, you have likely noticed that many of the pews have dedication plaques memorializing families and individuals who called Gates home and whose names we continue to honor and remember. A limited number of half and full pew plaques are available for $5,000.00* and $10,000.00*, respectively. Please contact Peter Kopcha, President, at kopcha@cgoh.org.
