Temple office is closed due to a possible COVID exposure. This has also resulted in the need to cancel our annual Latke Batter sale. If you have already paid for your order, we are asking you to consider donating those funds to our youth group programs, GOHTY (Gates of Heaven Temple Youth) to help us continue our mission of engaging teens in Jewish life. You also have the option of getting a refund or having the money applied to your account.

Mona Golub's Famous Homemade Latke Batter Fundraiser

  • All proceeds support GOHTY (Gates of Heaven Temple Youth group)!
  • Each quart contains enough batter to make about a dozen 3” latkes.
  • The batter lasts one week in the refrigerator.
  • Yes, you can freeze the batter. Lasts 6-12 months in the freezer.

Mona uses parboiled shredded potatoes in the batter!

  • The inside of the latkes will never be raw!
  • The outside of the latkes will always be crisp!
  • The latkes will never be oily!

Mona's Cooking Tips:

  • Make sure to give batter a good stir before spooning it into the oil, this evenly distributes the egg mixture that holds them together.
  • Heat the oil until hot (good corn, canola, or vegetable oil). Test with a dab of batter, which should sizzle upon impact.
  • Once batter is in the hot oil look for the edges to turn brown before flipping. Ideally, they should only be flipped once.
  • Fried latkes (from the fridge) can be easily reheated in the oven or toaster oven on a foil-covered tray at 325 degrees for 5 min on each side.

  • $10 Minimum donation per container
  • deadline is 11/27/20
