The Golub Family Education Center

Congregation Gates of Heaven keeps Jewish learning relevant to our student’s lives. The CGOH curriculum provides students with a strong foundation in Judaism and the tools to live their lives as ones who set the example for others in repairing the world—making our communities a better place.

Our goal is to plant the seeds of life-long learning through meaningful exploration, critical thinking skills, and hands-on-learning with both classes and families.

Religious School 2020-2021

July 2020

Dear Families,

Back in March when we enacted our remote learning plan, we anticipated a temporary situation. Our plan was intended to keep everyone virtually connected for a few weeks and to educate our learners in a meaningful way.   We have certainly learned a lot since then about how to best teach and learn in a virtual world.

With these experiences in mind, we are planning for several scenarios in a new year of learning that will educate, engage, and meet our high expectations for excellence in teaching and learning. This includes all programs of Hebrew and Judaic classes for Preschool - 12th grade, B'nai Mitzvah preparation, Confirmation, the Madrikhim Leadership program, and several opportunities for youth and family engagement.  We are optimistic about this coming year and excited to be thinking in new ways how this sacred community extends far beyond the walls of our physical space. Within the guidelines from the state and local authorities and the CDC recommendations for gatherings and events, we will reopen our Education Center this fall, the first day of school is Sunday, October 4. Be it in person, virtually, or some combination of those, the faculty and staff will be ready and awaiting your return.  Our calendar is set, our programs are planned, and we want your family to be a part of it all!

As always, health and safety will remain our priority. When more information is available to us, and as guidelines provide a clearer path to reopening our doors, we will communicate that information to you. Registration is currently open. Late registrations do make it difficult for us to plan. Kindly complete the registration by August 2 and let us know that we should save space for your child.

Director of Congregational Jewish Living

Note: Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur fall on Sundays in September, so we will begin Religious School on October 4, 2020. Registration deadline is August 2, 2020.
