12:00 PM - 2:00 PMCongregation Gates of HeavenNoon -light luncheon followed by 12:30 Zoom session Metrofix author Bill Patrick Metrofix: The Combative Comeback of a Company Town How do you fix a city? Metrofix: The Combative Comeback of a Company Town shows what went right and what went wrong when General Electric moved most of its businesses out of Schenectady, New York. Between 1960 and 2000, this company town would lose 30,000 residents, and like so many other cities in post-industrial America, faced overwhelming forces that pushed it toward imminent ruin.
Join Bill Patrick and have a light lunch with friends as we explore historic photos, deeply-researched details, and thought-provoking portraits of some of its most dynamic citizens, Metrofix is an inspirational story that shows how hundreds of dedicated citizens pulled their city back from the brink of disaster and did, in fact, change their world.
Free event, but $5.00 donation will be appreciated. Zoom link on www.cgoh.org/adult-education.html

Ignite: Conversation & Connection
Spark your identity. Shape your future.
A monthly space to explore Jewish values, leadership, and life.
Ever wonder if someone’s really listening to you? What actually makes a best friend? How do you stay chill when everything feels chaotic? And what does being Jewish in America even mean right now?
At Ignite, we talk about real stuff that matters—friendship, identity, stress, belonging—through games, debates, and conversations that aren’t boring. It’s a space to speak your mind, hear new perspectives, and figure things out together.
Come for the fun. Stay for the deep stuff.
