Mitzvah a Month: A Monthly Spotlight
Join us on a meaningful journey where each month, we focus on a different organization or cause that makes a difference in the world. In "Mitzvah in Action," we bring Jewish values to life by shining a spotlight on one institution at a time. Each month, we will explore the mission of a selected organization, learn about the impact they have, and actively contribute to their work. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of Tzedakah (charitable giving), Gemilut Khasadim (acts of kindness), and the power of community, all while building friendships and growing as leaders. December Mitzvah A Month
For the month of December, Congregation Gates of Heaven’s “Mitzvah A Month” will be collecting toys and clothing for Trinity Alliance of the Capitol Region.
Trinity is a settlement house and social services agency in Albany whose mission is to provide services to the community that will support and promote healthy adults, children, and families. Trinity has programs focused on marginalized communities in our region that address health and wellness, education and employment opportunities, prevention of gun violence, housing resources, re-entry services after incarceration, food insecurity, and more.
Each December Trinity hosts a “Winter Wonderland” event that provides holiday toys to children and families in need. This year, they have 313 households and 973 children registered for the event.
Please help us contribute to making this a wonderful holiday for these children by bringing new unwrapped toys to the collection box in the lobby through Sunday, December 15th.
They also welcome donations of warm clothing for the children (new clothing for this event, sizes for babies to adolescent).
