Recent events make it hard to discuss the State of Israel, especially within the Jewish community. How can we learn to really listen and talk together honestly and productively about this topic, so close to our hearts? The work of storyteller Noa Baum can point the way and start the conversation.
A Land Twice Promised is a transformational one-woman show. Noa is an Israeli who began a heartfelt dialogue with a Palestinian woman while living in the United States. She weaves together their memories and their mothers' stories. She creates a moving testimony illuminating the complex and contradictory history and emotions that surround Jerusalem for Israelis and Palestinians alike.
The 4:30 performance will be offered free of charge, but those planning to come are asked to sign up in advance for the event at this link.
There is an additional workshop for the Jewish community, at 7:30pm Sunday April 30th. This will be held at Temple Israel, as well, and kosher food will be available there to purchase between the performance and the workshop. Tickets of $18, at this link, will be required for the workshop.
