2023 HOW IT WENT

Serve your community in-person this Fall.

These were some of the many ways we made an impact on our community with our volunteer options with family or with the CGOH family at the event on November 12th. We ate something, learned something, Got our 2023 Mitzvah Day T-Shirt AND helped our community!

Find something you feel would fit your passions and capabilities.

We selected a numbered Mitzvah Day Activity- if no date was listed, it was November 12. 2023

OR using a google Drive form--- register here for the activity you/ your family will do & be certain to tell us if you will join us for lunch!

1) Lunch Prepare, Serve & Clean-up CGOH kitchen 11 AM start, clean up after 1 PM

2) Food Bank Assistance at the

Regional Food Bank in Latham November 5 from 1-3 PM

THIS IS CLOSED- MAXIMUM # volunteer reached!! Thanks so much.

Must wear closed toe shoes

 

 

3) Umbrella- Yard Clean up within 10 miles of Schenectady

dress accordingly

bring rake, gloves

you will be assigned a location for 1- 4 PM

 

 

4) Electronics recycling

11:00 AM to 1:00 PM help bring in items inside to boxes in the CGOH Lobby

5) Bake and Donate Pies 1-3 PM

CGOH Kitchen, Apples donated by Mona Golub

6) 

Moon Catcher- bring portable sewing machine here 1-4 PM to make cloth sanitary pads for those in need

7) 

Schenectady JCC Repairs OR Garden Clean up (wear older clothes, bring work gloves).

  • Distribute Woodchips

Power for Purpose- Teach your family about the environment

1-3 PM CGOH

9) Zumba Fundraiser $20 at Schenectady JCC by 1:30 for  2-4 PM Zumba-thon

Coat Drive- Bring warm coats for those in need (We'll collect in our LOBBY).

Funds can be donated for future Mitzvah Days to the Wachenheim Mitzvah Day Fund on our donation page www.cgoh.org

Food (canned or boxed) can be donated IN OUR LOBBY or to any Food Bank or group that helps locally. Many of these will also be collecting warm clothing and Coats for our cold winters.

SICM is very near and dear to us.  As is the Shalom pantry

MITZVAH Day 2023: Sunday, November 12th Noon, Lunch then volunteer!!

The 26th Annual Mitzvah Day will look different again this year! This was the design of the 2022 T shirt and we recycled it for 2023 use!

                                                                         

The world needs us more than ever, in-person where-ever we can, our commitment to our local community through volunteerism and tzedakah is unchanged.
 

Mitzvah Day was Sunday, November 12, 2023. A small team began working on it in JULY, 2023.
